Biannual Brand

Biannual was a contemporary outerwear label developed to occupy the space between ready-to-wear and fast fashion, combining a designer-driven aesthetic with a millennial value system and an accessible price point strategy.

The brand was conceived by Dani Roche, whose creative vision and authorship formed the foundation of Biannual’s identity, values, and design language. Working closely with Dani, Steph Hoff served as Executive Creative Director and Executive Creative Producer, overseeing the development, branding, and production of the label from concept through market launch.

Together, the collaboration focused on building a brand system rooted in longevity rather than trend acceleration—positioning Biannual as a response to fast fashion without adopting luxury exclusivity. The result was a cohesive, values-led outerwear brand designed for cultural relevance, durability, and commercial viability.

Responsibilities

  • Executive creative direction and brand development in close collaboration with Dani Roche

  • Oversight of visual identity, branding, and narrative articulation

  • Executive creative production across design, manufacturing, and launch phases

  • Strategic positioning within the contemporary outerwear market

  • Coordination of production timelines, partners, and go-to-market strategy

  • Alignment of brand vision with distribution, pricing, and retail objectives

Outcome

Upon launch, Biannual achieved immediate cultural and commercial traction. The brand was distributed through premium global retailers and received strong editorial recognition across fashion media, while also gaining visibility through early adoption by high-profile cultural figures.

Over five seasons, Biannual met awareness, prestige, and revenue objectives before being intentionally shelved due to shifting corporate priorities of the brand’s parent company. Though short-lived, the project stands as a complete, fully realized brand system—demonstrating the impact of strong creative authorship paired with disciplined executive production and strategy.
