  • Objects enter the Archive in one of three states:

    • Restored: returned to reliable use

    • Curated: selected as found for cultural relevance

Each classification holds equal value within the Archive.

  • Most garments may be machine washed cold and hung to dry.

Hand-applied components, heat-sealed paint, studs, and metal plaques should be treated gently.

When in doubt, spot clean or consult a professional dry cleaner.

  • Condition notes reflect honest wear appropriate to age, production era, or original manufacturing method.

Minor imperfections are considered part of the object’s record.

  • All objects are sourced through post-consumer channels, peer-to-peer exchanges, independent shops, or local networks.

Manufacturing labels and designer marks are documented when present.

Objects without identifiable markings are included when culturally relevant.

  • Clearance Archive operates outside of first-cycle retail.

Objects, tools, and base materials are sourced through direct encounter—walking, cycling, and visiting peer-to-peer markets, independent shops, and community networks.

Interventions use post-consumer components whenever possible.
This approach favours intention, time, and material honesty over convenience.

  • Interventions are performed by hand using simple tools, archival adhesives, stitching, and heat sealing.

Marks of labor are intentional and may be visible upon close inspection.

  • Remade and restored objects are unique.

    No editions are reproduced.
Small thematic runs may occur but each piece remains singular.
