Description
Originally a women’s baby t-shirt, sized XS and found in near-new condition. Customized using post-consumer acrylic paint applied with a re-pressurized spray can directly over the “G” of the Gap logo—turning corporate typographic pride into an act of rebellion. The reference traces to LL Cool J’s 1997 Gap commercial, in which he wore a FUBU hat on-air, embedding “For Us By Us” inside a campaign for a brand emblematic of suburban aspiration. This Gap-turned-Rap gesture reframes that moment of cultural inversion, when hip-hop used irony to seize visibility on its own terms. Finished with a Chains patch at the back neck.
