A maintenance art practice by Chains.

The Clearance Archive Repair Stand is a mobile, public-facing workstation for the repair and maintenance of everyday objects.

Operating in parks, sidewalks, and shared urban spaces, the stand offers hand-sewn repairs—buttons, tears, reinforcement—on a pay-what-you-like basis.

How It Works

Arrive during posted hours with an item in need of repair.

Describe what you would like done.

Take a repair slip and document why the item matters.

The repair is completed on-site, or returned to later.

Each repair enters a growing public archive of maintenance work.
