Description

Heavyweight cotton pullover hoodie reworked through a cut-and-sew intervention. The base garment was a worn, well-constructed hoodie with existing branded graphics. Portions of the original back print remain faintly visible beneath a newly applied appliqué.

The appliqué depicts the Crimson Ghost, a graphic most closely associated with Misfits. Originally appearing on the band’s late-1970s recordings, the image has circulated widely across punk culture for decades, often detached from specific albums or eras. Like other enduring band graphics, it functions as a visual marker that exceeds the group itself, moving through patches, tattoos, graffiti, and garments.

The Ghost image was traced and hand-cut from a second sweatshirt sourced in damaged condition and diverted from landfill. Each segment was positioned and sewn directly onto the hoodie using raw-edge construction. Stitching remains visible and slightly irregular, leaving the assembly process legible.

The original front logo of the base garment was removed and the opening patched with a matching scrap from the salvaged sweatshirt. A Chains label is stitched at the lower front hem. The hoodie retains a softened hand, intact ribbing, and surface wear consistent with prior use.
