Description

Originally a pair of Canadian-made full-grain leather derbies with crepe soles, sourced in near-new condition from a high-end consignment shop. The shoes were intentionally reworked to disrupt the polish of a classic dress shoe.

A circular cut-out on the right toe reveals the wearer’s sock. The left toe is covered in a strip of aluminum tape, sealed with professional leather adhesive. Both interventions are reinforced to prevent further tearing or fray, maintaining structural integrity despite their distressed appearance.

The tongues carry hand-stamped recycled aluminum plates: the left reads Remade by Chains; the right, Anarchy & Peace. The surface has been conditioned and selectively distressed to create a lived-in finish that sits between functional footwear, object, and fashion.
