Description

Canadian-made full-grain leather derby shoes with crepe soles, sourced in near-new condition. The pair has been remade through a series of direct material interventions.

A circular cut-out has been made through the right toe, exposing the sock beneath. The left toe is covered with a strip of aluminum tape, adhered using leather-grade adhesive and sealed to prevent lifting. Both alterations are structurally reinforced, allowing the shoes to remain wearable despite visible modification.

Each tongue carries a hand-stamped recycled aluminum plate. One reads Remade by Chains; the other, Anarchy & Peace. The leather has been conditioned and selectively worn back by hand, producing an uneven surface consistent with use rather than polish.

The result is a pair of functional shoes that retain their original construction while bearing clear evidence of alteration and repair.
