Vintage black Levi’s 505 jeans remade through hand-applied paint and metal intervention.

Active in late-1970s Los Angeles, The Germs became associated with a simple blue circle painted directly onto clothing worn by band members and those around them. The mark appeared on denim, jackets, and shirts, applied by hand rather than produced commercially, functioning as an informal signifier rather than merchandise.

This pair follows that approach. The circle is painted directly onto the legs with visible brushwork, using a soft, pre-worn denim base selected for comfort and surface character. A round metal plaque, cut from the funnel of a broken stovetop espresso maker, is hand-stamped and stitched to the pocket, referencing the band’s name and Darby Crash. Two pyramid studs are set directly into the fabric.

All elements are applied manually. The jeans remain fully wearable.
