Description

intage black cotton T-shirt remade through hand-applied paint and metal intervention.

During the brief active period of The Germs in late-1970s Los Angeles, a simple blue circle was painted directly onto shirts and jackets worn by the band and those around them. The mark circulated informally, applied by hand to inexpensive garments rather than produced as merchandise.

This T-shirt follows that method. The circle is painted directly onto the fabric with visible brushwork and heat-set into the cotton. A small hand-stamped scrap-metal plaque is stitched below the collar, and two pyramid studs are set into the surface. The base garment was selected for its soft, pre-worn feel and boxy early-1980s cut.

All modifications are applied manually. The shirt remains fully wearable.
